How do I apply to Malaysian universities?
You can apply through Neogoals for free. We handle the entire application process including form filling, document submission, and follow-up with universities. You just need to provide your academic documents and we'll take care of the rest.
What are the admission requirements for Malaysian universities?
Requirements vary by program and level. Generally: For Bachelor's you need a high school diploma with 60-70% average, IELTS 5.5-6.0. For Master's you need a Bachelor's degree with 2.5+ GPA, IELTS 6.0-6.5. Some programs may require additional tests.
How long does the admission process take?
The admission process usually takes 2-4 weeks from the date of complete application submission. Some universities may be faster (1-2 weeks) and others may take longer especially for competitive programs like Medicine.
Can I apply to multiple universities?
Yes, you can apply to multiple universities and programs simultaneously. At Neogoals, we help you apply to up to 3 different universities for free to increase your chances of acceptance.
What if my grades are low?
Even with low grades, there are options available. You can start with a Foundation or Diploma program then transfer to a Bachelor's degree. We help you find the best academic pathway for your situation.

Visa & Immigration

How long does the visa process take?
The complete visa process usually takes 4-8 weeks. This includes EMGS approval (2-4 weeks), Immigration approval (1-2 weeks), and getting the entry visa from the embassy (3-5 days).
What is VAL and how do I get it?
VAL (Visa Approval Letter) is the visa approval letter from EMGS. Your university or Neogoals submits the application on your behalf after you receive admission. After approval, you use the VAL to get your entry visa from the Malaysian embassy.
How much does the visa cost?
Total cost is approximately $500-600 including: EMGS fees (~$350), embassy fees ($50-100), medical examination ($50-150), and student pass fees ($100/year).

How much are tuition fees in Malaysia?
Varies by program and university: Engineering $4,000-8,000/year, Business $3,500-7,000/year, Medicine $14,000-25,000/year, IT $3,500-7,500/year, Islamic Studies $2,500-5,000/year.
How much is the monthly cost of living?
Living costs are very affordable: $400-600/month including accommodation ($150-300), food ($100-200), transport ($30-50), and other expenses. Kuala Lumpur may be slightly more ($500-700/month).
Are there scholarships available?
Yes, many universities offer scholarships to international students based on academic merit. Scholarships range from 10% to 100% of tuition fees. We help you apply for available scholarships.
Can I pay fees in installments?
Yes, most universities offer installment payment plans. Usually you can pay fees in 2-3 installments throughout the semester. First installment must be paid before the semester starts.

Living in Malaysia

How is life in Malaysia for Arab students?
Malaysia is a Muslim, multicultural country very welcoming to Arab students. You'll find halal food everywhere, many mosques, and a large Arab community. The climate is tropical and warm year-round.
Can I work while studying?
Yes, international students can work part-time (20 hours/week) during holidays and breaks only after obtaining a work permit from the university and Immigration Department.
How is the transportation system in Malaysia?
Public transport is excellent and cheap: Buses ($0.50-1), LRT/MRT metro ($0.50-1.50), Grab/taxi ($3-10). A monthly transport pass costs only $25-40.

Academics & Study

Are Malaysian degrees recognized internationally?
Yes, Malaysian degrees are recognized by MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency) and internationally by UNESCO and many countries. Many universities have additional international accreditations.
What is the medium of instruction?
Most programs are taught in English. Some Islamic Studies programs may be taught in Arabic. Required English level is usually IELTS 5.5-6.5 depending on the program.
What if I don't have IELTS?
Some universities accept internal language tests or other certificates like TOEFL. You can also join an intensive English language program in Malaysia before starting your academic program.
When do semesters start?
Most universities have 2-3 intakes per year: January/February, May/June, and September/October. You can apply 2-3 months before your desired intake.
