Can International Students Stay in Malaysia After Graduation? (Visa Options)
Option 1: Find a Job (Employment Pass)
The most common route. If you find an employer willing to hire you with a salary above RM 5,000 (Category II) or RM 3,000 (Category III for fresh grads in some sectors), they can apply for an Employment Pass for you.
Option 2: Continue Studies
Many students transition from Bachelor's to Master's. A Master's degree takes 1-2 years and grants you another student visa, buying you more time to network and find jobs.
Option 3: Social Visit Pass
Upon graduation, your student visa is cancelled. You may get a short Social Visit Pass to wrap up your affairs, but you cannot work on this pass.
