Complete Guide to Malaysia Student Visa (EMGS) 2025
1. The Offer Letter
Your journey starts with an unconditional offer letter from a Malaysian university. You cannot apply for a visa without this.
2. EMGS Application (The VAL)
Universities usually handle this, but you must track it. You'll need to submit your passport pages, photos (white background), and health declaration. The processing time is 4-6 weeks.
3. Single Entry Visa (SEV)
Once your Visa Approval Letter (VAL) is issued, download it and apply for an SEV at the nearest Malaysian Embassy. This allows you to enter Malaysia.
4. Post-Arrival Process
After landing, you'll go through immigration clearance. Within 7 days, you must undergo another medical screening in Malaysia. Your passport will then be submitted to immigration to get the Student Pass sticker.
